For Halloween this year, I decided to be the Countess from American Horror Story Hotel, played by Lady Gaga. The bulk of my work on this costume went to her infamous hunting glove. The real one, designed by Michael Schmidt, is covered in thousands of Swarovski crystals. I certainly don’t have that kind of budget, so I ordered thousands of manicure rhinestones and a silver glove, and went to work with some gem glue and a pair of tweezers. This took many, many hours, a lot of coffee/tea, and a great deal of binge-watching Peaky Blinders. 

1. When I actually finished putting on the rhinestones, I added the fingernails, which are press-on nails, sanded into points with a rotary tool, painted with silver nail polish on both sides. I then added Mod Podge Mini Melts in silver with a hot glue gun for the metalwork. The end result is this.
